DIG IN AT COFFEE SHOP ALONG THONG LO SOI 38

Daniel and I were determined to find for ourselves the famed coffee shop along Thong Lo Soi 38 after Lonzo ditched us for tennis lessons at the last minute! If only he knows the things I could do to him with a tennis ball!

Luckily for us, it was really easy to find it. You can see from Thong Lo BTS station (in the background of above pic) Soi 38 below.
With nary a care in the world, leave with a flourish from Exit 4 of Thong Lo BTS station and float down to street level for a healthy dose of reality. When you are standing at the start of Soi 38, it's the first coffee shop on your right, with small stalls lining it's front as seen above.
This is the inside view of the coffee shop looking out. There is a very friendly uncle going around greeting non-Thais in Chinese, English and Japanese!
Once seated, representatives from the various stalls will attack you with their menus, printed helpfully in English and with pictures. You can point, can't you?
Daniel insisted we try the crab noodles and the salted baked fish (280 baht for a big fish and it came with some white bee hoon). Both were good.
Of course, Lonzo had to whatsapp us only when we have finished our meal to say the independent stalls opposite us have some treasures too good to miss too:
No matter! We had saved one of our two stomachs for dessert, which is the best sticky mango rice in Thong Lo at this super short cul-de-sac seen below. It's at the start of Soi 38, before you reached our coffee shop.
I had a few sticks from this stall below while waiting for our mango sticky rice. There was such a good selection to choose from.
We ordered the large portion of mango sticky rice to share and Daniel insisted the Japanese couple order the large portion too when they were undecided which size to consume. They finished it faster than we did and bolted. I think they didn't like being ordered around.
There is a prata kiosk just beside the mango sticky rice stall which has a myriad of stuffing options available. I need to go back and try the one with blue berries!!!
